FAQ

Common questions about our services

Clear, practical information regarding care eligibility, funding structures, and clinical frameworks so you can make an informed decision.

How do I choose between counselling, coaching, or NDIS support?

Clinical counselling is exploratory and designed to help you process deep-seated emotional pain, trauma, or mental health presentations, such as anxiety. Life coaching is highly present and future-focused, targeting career direction, personal development, and boundary management. NDIS therapeutic support is specifically tailored for participants seeking functional capacity building or support coordination under an approved NDIS plan.

Can I claim Medicare rebates for couples therapy or life coaching?

Under current Medicare frameworks, rebates are strictly capped and applicable only to individual counselling sessions for clients holding an active Mental Health Care Plan from their GP. Couples therapy, life coaching, personal development programmes, and clinical supervision for allied health practitioners are unfortunately not covered by Medicare rebates.

How do we coordinate NDIS funding for therapeutic support?

We warmly welcome both plan-managed and self-managed NDIS participants. Our therapeutic care, capacity building, and support coordination are processed under your NDIS Capacity Building budget. We invoice plan managers directly or provide immediate, structured receipts to self-managed participants for easy online claiming.

Can we transition from individual sessions into couples counselling?

While transitioning is structurally possible, it must be managed with absolute clinical care to protect therapist neutrality. If you are already undergoing deep individual counselling, introducing your partner can sometimes compromise the safe space. We generally recommend bringing in a separate, neutral therapist for couples therapy, or establishing very clear clinical boundaries from the outset of the transition.
